After its initial introduction into the residential and consumer electronics markets, it seemed like cable manufacturers were slow to adopt the new HDBaseT format. That is now changing.
The cabling company Accell Corporation announced that it was launching a new HDBaseT connectivity solution.
The company’s new UltraCat HD Extenders utilize a single Cat-5e/Cat-6 cable to transmit video formats such as 1920x1080p, 4K and 3D video, as well as lossless surround sound audio and RS-232, IR and IP-based control signals distances well over 300 feet. Accell says the solution is HDCP compliant and it supports data rates up to 10.2 Gbps. The product incorporates a transmitter and receiver unit and includes Ethernet 10/100BaseTx pass through for use with IP-enabled devices.
The UltraCat HD Extender products can be used in residential and commercial installations in which audio/video signals need to be transmitted long distances.
