Planar PS-Series Makes Digital Signage Affordable

Planar, known for its video wall and large-scale digital signage solutions, says it has entered a new product category with the launch of its PS-Series of smaller and more affordable commercial monitors.

The six models, which range from 42 to 65 inches with MSRPs of $849 to $4,799, are the result of customers’ requests for inexpensive LCD displays with full metal casing that are a fit for high-traffic locations, according to Planar.

The Planar PS-Series models include:

  • PS4200 (42-inch; $849) and PS6500 (65-inch; $4,799) LCD Displays — With 1080p resolution, the PS4200 is currently available and the PS6500 is slated to ship in November 2011.
  • PS4250 (42-inch; $1,199), PS4650 (46-inch; $1,549) and PS5550 (55-inch; $2,799) LCD Displays — With 1080p resolution, the PS5550 is currently available and the PS4200 and PS6500 are slated to ship in November 2011.
  • PS4200TL (42-inch; $1,699) LCD Display — This has integrated dual touch capability and is slated to ship in November 2011.

These full HD displays deliver a variety of features including multiple connectivity options, video wall support, RS-232 control, and ambient backlight control.
